JFS and MFA Mobilize Boston to Provide Critical Supplies to Refugees in Syria

The JFS Syrian Refugee Humanitarian Project brought together organizations from across Greater Boston Metrowest, including synagogues, Islamic centers, academia and the medical community to provide safety, hope and opportunity to Syrian war refugees. This project was instrumental in ensuring that refugee families that had resettled in Massachusetts received the care, attention and support necessary to survive their terrible trials and start to build a new life here in the United States.

To continue this important work, JFS is teaming up with the Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees (MFA) (with generous support provided by The Shapiro Foundation) to send a shipboard container full of personal care, medical and other supplies to children and families living in refugee camps inside Syria this spring.

Click below to watch a recording of the project kick off event held at Temple Beth Elohim on January 30th where representatives from MFA gave reports about the ongoing humanitarian crisis and survivors from Syria shared their stories of tremendous loss, as well as their passion for bringing help and relief to the thousands who continue to suffer:
