Kayla is the most recent addition to the JFS of Metrowest team. She comes to us from Framingham State University, having just graduated with a B.A. in Communication Arts. Previously, she worked with the MetroWest College Planning Center, where she mentored high school students throughout the Metrowest community about the importance of going to college. Through the partnership between JFS of Metrowest and the MetroWest College Planning Center Kayla discovered and learned all about what JFS had to offer.
As our Program Coordinator of Youth, Immigrant and Volunteer Services she will be working with our Reducing Achievement Gaps Program at the Woodrow Wilson Elementary School, our refugee resettlement program, along with coordinating all of our hardworking volunteers. Kayla will also be working with some of our newest agency initiatives including the Pop-Up Clothing Closet and the 100 Males to College Program. When speaking with her she stated how excited she is to be working with so many diversified programs that have such a large impact on the people in the community. Besides working within the community Kayla will also be working behind the scenes with JFS’s marketing and communications team in order to increase awareness of news and events that are happening within the agency. Having spent time traveling and living abroad Kayla loves learning about new people and cultures and looks forward to expanding her knowledge of the world through the Metrowest community.
While she is not working at JFS of Metrowest Kayla enjoys photography, spending time with her family and friends, blogging, creative writing, traveling and trying new foods. Her biggest fear is birds and someday she hopes to travel to Thailand.
