Woodrow Wilson School Earns IB World School Accreditation

On Friday night, JFS joined Woodrow Wilson Elementary School to celebrate an incredible accomplishment. The Wilson School has been accredited as an IB World School, one of just 3 elementary schools in Massachusetts. IB Schools share a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education and after four years of dedicated work to transition the school, Wilson officially became authorized to teach the Primary Years Programme (PYP).

The celebration included 250+ Wilson School teachers, parents, students, and community partners including JFS, with the accomplishments of the school on full display. Marc Jacobs, JFS CEO had the great honor of speaking about why our Jewish community cares deeply about these immigrant families. In his remarks he said, “The Jewish community understands better than anyone else the immigrant experience. It is seared in our hearts, and taught to us by our parents and grandparents, by our teachers and our clergy. We are compelled to care about fellow immigrants.”  JFS was generously acknowledged by the Superintendent of Schools and the two principals who have served during our decade of work together.

JFS is honored to have participated in the lives of the students and parents of the Wilson school throughout the last ten years with after-school programs, family assistance and food security, and parent outreach and involvement. To learn more about JFS programs at the Wilson School, click here.
