Volunteer Appreciation Event 2015!

June 25th marked JFS of Metrowests annual Volunteer Appreciation Event.  The event was hosted at Samba Steak and Sushi in Framingham.  This past year volunteers contributed 3,010 hours to the Metrowest Community! In Massachusetts a volunteer’s time is valued at $27.82 per hour, so in the last year, volunteers donated $83,738 worth of time. This is an incredible number and JFS is so proud to have such a talented and committed volunteer team! Next year, we are going  for a goal of over $100,000, which is over 3,660 hours!  The years Ellen Bloch Youth Leadership Award was awarded to Jessica Flagg, while Paul Rosenzweig and Jeanine Harushingingo were the recipients of the CEO’s Roll Up Your Sleeves Award.

It is true that what our volunteers do in service of others remains for a lifetime. The students they serve, or the elders they visit, or the money they raise, supports the next generation and the generation after that and so on. Thank you to all of our volunteers for giving your time, passion, and caring hearts to the agency and the people we serve! Thanks for a great year and here’s to another successful one going forward!
